Letters To Patients
What are we doing?
Letters to Patients is about being the support needed when the battle is in full throttle. All people need help at least once in their lifetime. When people are given tragic news, or taken through the wringer in their health, that is a crucial time to give the affection and focus that they need. Everyone dreads being hospitalized or institutionalized away from people they love. That’s where we come in.
Why are we doing this?
We do this because we care, we love, and we want to be light through the battle at hand. Whether, it’s people who have been hospitalized for a short time, long time, or the rest of their time, we want to be there.
Who can do it?
Anyone can write a letter(s) to hospitalized or institutionalized patients. If someone doesn’t have the ability to write and would like to we offer support to make it happen. This is meant for all ages. Even children will be able to write or just simply draw a picture that will bring a smile to the patient’s heart and face.
How can it be done?
We understand everyone has the ability to love and show it in different ways. Here are simple ways, to show your love through letters to patients:
1. Get involved with your group or if you want to do this individually, it’s perfectly fine.
2. Plan how many patients you would like to touch with these letters and raise the adequate funds to do so for the resources needed. (section on how to raise funds)
3. Get in contact with the Volunteer Coordinator, if you are doing it individually. If you are doing it with your group, the lead person will set it up.
4. Set aside time to write these letters and submit them to your team lead.
Where can it be done?
This can be done at the comfort of your home, office, or any place comfortable to write. It can be done at any place that we have the authority to do it in.
When can it be done?
Anytime of the year letters are more than welcome, especially to those fighting a battle in their health. If you are doing it with a group make sure you know when they will be doing this campaign. If you’re doing it individually, anytime is great.
